Traffic calming through Arthurs Point

To help preserve the safety and serenity of Arthurs Point, there are plans to ensure traffic observes the speed limits, particularly on Arthurs Point Road. The Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has submitted a funding application to Waka Kotahi for traffic calming between Watties Track and Coronet Road. A decision will likely be made mid-2024. The outcome will probably include three raised safety platforms:

  1. Old AP (Current Bus Stop Location)

  2. Top 10 Holiday Park (Current Bus Stop Location)

  3. Bullendale

Shotover River crossing upgrade

There are long terms plans to supplement the existing Shotover River bridge (Edith Cavell), making it easier for pedestrians to cross. A feasibility study has been completed the geotechnical surveys have been promising. We'll update this page as new developments are made.
